Can the water be used for ironing after it has been filtered through BRITA® filters?

BRITA^® water is suitable for use in steam irons due to reduced lime levels.  However, most steam irons (with aluminum soles) recommend demineralized water for optimal performance. Filtered water is ideal for irons with a chrome-plated steel material. Customers should refer to the user manual or contact the appliance manufacturer to use the best water source for the iron's material.
